Fresh off her trip to NYC, this evening we welcomed McKenna back into the mix. We got a taste of McKenna’s comedy routine in the MHT competition, tune in to hear. Four-Twenty Two Thousand and Nine

I recently returned to beautiful Denver, Colorado from New York City where I had the chance to compete in the 2009 Miss High Times Pageant. My trip to New York started off pretty rocky, I left my digital camera at home and was crusing my poor memory the entire way to the airport.

After I checked in and made it through secruity I met up with Wendylon, also a contestant in this year’s pageant. Wendylon is a bubbly brunette from Grass Valley, California. She was very excited to be a “pageant girl” as she put it. We were both ready to get to NYC and begin the long awaited competition, Wendylon was sure she or I would be the winner, she said, “I wish we could share the crown.” Our flight was delayed an hour so Wendylon and I passed the time talking about growing, friends, family and our involvement with High Times.

I had planned to sleep the entire way to NYC and was slightly dissappointed when Wendylon decided to trade her seat for one next to me. Instead of sleeping we played hangman and anticiapted our arrival to New York. Five hours later, our plane touched down at La Guardia and we were ready to rock!

A white stretch limo awaited Wendylon and I, as soon as the driver opened our door the aroma of sweet marijuana burst into my nostrils. Inside the limo were Jessica, Skye, Anastasia, Vaporella, and a camera man. I was immediately handed a joint and welcomed by all the girls. Excited chatter filled the smoky limo as we headed to the pageant venue in Brooklyn.

We were greeted by Bobby Black with open arms, he escorted us into our changing room and gave us the breakdown of the night’s events. Inside the changing room were the lovely Vegas Price (Bobby’s woman), T (Miss HT runner up), and a handful of joints. We immediately started blazing.

Because our flights were delayed we did not have enough time to check into our hotel and shower before the event, all of us had to get ready at the venue. Clothes, make up and shoes were flying everywhere as we scrambled to get ready. While we prepared ourselves Bobby Black was busy judging the “Wild Card” portion of the competition. Royna, or something like that, was chosen to compete along with the other girls. Poor Royna, all she was wearing was bikini bottoms and a tank top, but I’m pretty sure that worked to her advantage. Vanessa, the cool goth chick from Queens made her way into the changing room, she had the best eyeliner and helped me with mine. Amanda, the petite blonde who’s flight was severly delayed, made it to the venue shortly before the competition began.

After multiple joints and trips to the mirror we were finally ready to begin the competition. Round one found us in Nugg Brand booty shorts and t-shirts. We were introduced and asked preliminary questions. I honestly cannot recall any of the questions asked that night, way too much blazing going on. Following the introduction round was the talent competition. I displayed my stand up comedy skills and offended a great number of people in the audience, many of them seemed to hate me, or at least their boo’s indicated so. I think this may have been my downfall, perhaps if I were more bubbly and friendly I would have won…

After the talent round we slipped into our bikinis to be oggled by the party attendees. I was pretty nervous in the weeks leading up to the bikini portion of the competition, but to my surprise my nerves eased up before I made it on stage. During the bikini round we were asked quesitons once again. Thankfully the round was over quickly and we moved on the the award ceremony.

When Bobby Black asked the audience to cheer for each girl Skye won the audience approval , there was an overwhelming reponse to her, which is not surprising. She is a tall brunette beauty form British Columbia, funny, smart and down for the cause. Surprisingly Skye took third place that night, I came in second and Jessica was crowned Miss High Times 2009. I’ll admit I was bummed about not winning a trip to Amesterdam, but I am happy with my new pink bong and the expericene I had.

I wish Jessica and all the girls the best of luck. In the three days I was in New York I made new friends, conquered my fear of public “half nudity” and smoked a fat peanut butter and jelly blunt. Thank you to the High Times staff for being so friendly and taking time to put on this event. I will never forget my 4/20 2009.

Miss High Times and Charles Lynch

Tonight Dick Black sat in for McKenna who was in NYC competing for the Miss High Times Pageant. Early on, McKenna joined us on the phone to talk about winning 2nd place, and for a moment we got to speak to the new MHT, Jessica. Later on Charles C. Lynch came on for a heartfelt talk about his impending sentencing for marijuana distribution. CelebStoner’s Steve Bloom came on to tell us about his day at the 420 rally in Boulder. We were briefly joined by the Denver 420 Rally Director Miguel Lopez. We welcomed the guys from Dragon Piss pipe cleaner in the studio to say hello.

Ed Rosenthal and Craig X Rubin

Bobby Black and Warren Edson

Today is McKenna’s birthday! Tonight we had the pleasure of welcoming local lawyer Warren Edson into our studio for a great discussion. Later on we were joined by the one and only Bobby Black from High Times who joined us to promote the upcoming Miss High Times Pageant. Near the end, Activist Miguel Lopez came on to promote this Thursday’s 420 fundraiser, and Niles told us about his education at Cannabis University.
