What McCain Must Do To Win

What McCain has to do to Win the Election
by Roger Norquist

Barack Obama is leading polls. Out of the 270 electoral-votes, (EVs), needed to win, Obama will count on 260 from strongly democratic states and 46 leaning toward him. The democratic nominee’s lead in these states range from 9%, in New Hampshire, to has much as 25%, New York. Ten electoral votes are needed for Obama to win if polls hold.

This knowledge must be leaving a grim taste in John McCain’s mouth. His genius political moves are turning out to be hurting more then helping his campaign; the biggest being his VP nomination of Sarah Palin. Some of her comments have been more confusing then anyone else’s. In response to her foreign experience being questioned during an interview with ABC News’ Charlie Gibson, Palin attempted to show her experience by telling him you are able to see part of the massive country from Alask.

After all the madcap political mayhem so far, McCain is counting on just 137 EVs; creating a huge gap, forcing him to hope he can pickup 133 EVs. The republican’s states leaning toward him are small as well, just 23 votes. To make matters worse, Obama’s travels to normally republican states have morphed them into crucial swing states and in some places turned them into weak, but democratic states. As of today Oct. 23, McCain needs to do something; something big, something fantastic, something that might be impossible for McCain.

1)    Look Cooler.
It may sound stupid and childish, but I’m not voting for McCain because he looks and acts like both my grandfathers. In the debates he did not so much answer questions with answers but really short stories, he just seemed kept talking about the people he knew and the things they used to do together… like my grandfather. Leaving me to question, if he knew debates were platforms to debate issues.

2)    Win every swing state and toss up, then steal some of Obama’s.
If McCain wins every toss up, 72 EV, he will have 209 votes. If he wins all leaning toward him the total them becomes 232, 38 EVs short of winning. McCain is going to have to steal a lot of Obama votes if he hopes to become president before he dies. Personally, McCain should try for the steal of Ohio, Virginia, and Colorado; all newly acquired pick-ups for the Democrats this election.

3)    While winning everything, not lose anything. At all!
Obama needs ten EVs to when potentially. While McCain is out winning and stealing, he will have to valiantly defend what frail leads in the polls he has. For this to happen, McCain will have to stop Obama from campaigning and using the same style tactics the republicans are using. I really don’t know how this is possible.  Maybe if McCain looked cooler he wouldn’t have to worry about this.

4)    Basically turn the entire election around.
It is impossible to know what Election Day result will reveal. However, McCain is statistically losing and gaps are began to appear in what was originally a close race full of uncertainty. Now Obama is even going neck and neck with McCain for the rural votes of America, a normally republican vote. McCain must stop this at once; he wouldn’t be much of a republican if he lost some of the most conservative voters in America. The best thing for McCain to do is to start again. He needs to declare the past 6 months were all a joke, that or build a time machine.

All numbers carry an error value of plus/minus 3 points.

Speaking on the Steps

I got the opportunity to say a few words in front of the capital building during the DNC rally put on by Miguel Lopez. Thank you for the opportunity to speak, Miguel.

It was quite a surreal experience being able to get on a microphone and speak my mind about marijuana prohibition.

I would like to encourage people who are inspired to come out to future rallies.

Alas, you will soon have the chance.

Come out to March on the Democratic National Convention.

This is our time!

After many tedious weeks, it gives me great pleasure to debut our new website. The old one did not do Marijuana Radio justice.  We aspire to be remarkable at what we do, so why shouldn’t our website be?

I have never worked harder on a website.  It’s my hope that it will help to continue to raise our professional profile in this amazing and passionate industry.

We are hell bent to make change and succeed at what we do. We do so by putting our lifestyles out there without shame.

To me, above all else, Marijuana Radio is about freedom.  We are good people and work in a community full of good people who do not deserve the fear of criminalization.  I hope that our program will help break the stigma associated with pot use. Whether for recreational or medical purposes, it is not the job, or the right of anyone to deny us our special culture. Prohibition is a form of torture and it is only tragic to me when a non violent person goes to jail for growing this plant. The law is vastly overboard and must be changed.  Marijuana prohibition is not a law that anyone should be proud of with respect to freedom.

My grandfather made wine.  My uncles make wine.  I would like to grow marijuana, but I am not allowed.  I am not permitted to grow a safer drug than alcohol.

In the future I only hope to make every aspect of what we’re doing with Marijuana Radio bigger and better. It’s never good enough for me, and this is the drive that keeps everything improving.

There is nothing like the breath of fresh air in new media.  We exist to stand out like a sore thumb in the world of podcasting.  We aspire to be bullocks in the world of aggressive legalization efforts, and at the heart of it all do so by entertaining you.

We have been blessed to have the help of outfits like Suburban Noize Records and Silverback Music to enrich the sonic experience of our media.  Please support musicians on our program by buying their music! The experience of the show would be less rich if we did not have these outfits helping us out.  I can only extend to them the greatest of gratitude for making it feel like our ‘dreams’ are coming true.

Everyone who wants should take part.  Join the forums and be a part of our special community!

Pay attention for the debut of our VIP Smoke Room.  This unique area is to be a reward for listeners who donate and support our program.  We work very hard to bring you a great show, and you can help us grow to become the most important marijuana legalization and entertainment phenomenon of our generation.

My fellow pot smokers or users, help us make our dreams come true and by doing so, you’re moving all of us closer to a day when we can smoke in the open and have no fear of doing so.

Peace!
